Astrat – Disabilities & Creativity

For spring 2026, circusnext and the Association Les Jours Heureux will host artist Carlo Cerato for a three-week residency within residential care homes for people with disabilities in Paris.

Astrat – Disabilities & Creativity brings together Italian juggler Carlo Cerato (circusnext 2021 Laureate with Edo Cirque) and the residents of the Jean Faveris Medicalised Care Home and the Kellermann Care Home, two specialised facilities run by the Association Les Jours Heureux and located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

In a social context where stereotypical representations of disability remain widespread, this project seeks to create a dialogue through objects, while valuing and highlighting the modes of expression of people with disabilities.

From 13 to 17 April, alternating between creative time and collective juggling workshops, the artist and the residents will share a first week of residency centred on a singular artistic creation process. Here, bodies, sensibilities and imaginaries that are rarely present within conventional creative circuits become driving forces for expression and research. Two further weeks of immersion will take place in May 2026.

The outcomes of the Astrat – Disabilities & Creativity project will be presented at partner venues during the 2026–2027 season.

As part of the L’Art d’être ensemble* programme run by the Ville de Paris.

Lab at the Châtellerault Circus School

A look back at the circusnext lab Research & Writing, held from 3 to 8 November 2026 at the Châtellerault Circus School.

This playful yet profound lab engages bodies, stories, imaginations and environments as drivers of action, with the aim of creating a unique circus experience for each individual. During a week-long workshop at the Châtellerault Circus School, students explored these themes under the guidance of Eleonora Giménez, an author, director, performer and circus teacher.

« Through work that moves between the collective and the intimate, we question the distinction between the roles of author, performer, director, and dramaturg, in order to better understand their place and function within the creative process. » Eleonora Gimenez

Inbal Ben Haim (2021 Laureate) at the Théâtre de Rungis

On 31 January 2026, Inbal Ben Haim (2021 circusnext Laureate) presents her latest creation Anitya – L’impermanence at the Théâtre de Rungis.

* Due to an artist’s injury, the performance scheduled for Friday, November 28 at 20:30 has been postponed to Saturday, January 31 at 18:00

Inbal Ben Haim · Anitya – L’impermanence · Rope, visual arts · Solo

Through the art of knitting, aerial suspension meets threads of cotton. It speaks of destruction and collective reconstruction — an artistic metaphor for what human societies are experiencing today.

To remember the impermanence of all things — Anitya — is one of the founding principles of Buddhism. For Inbal Ben Haïm, this notion, which resonates deeply with the chaos of our times, is an invitation not to surrender to despair. After every act of destruction, there lies the promise of renewal. This is what she seeks to bring to life, in close complicity with the audience, through a performance that bridges circus and visual art — where aerial suspension intertwines with the practice of weaving. A thousand metres of tangled thread form a scenography that vibrates through space. At once organic and tactile, this sculpture — animated by the artist’s moving body — vanishes before our eyes and between our hands. It leaves behind an emptiness we must fill together. The aesthetic process engages us both physically and emotionally. Together, we form a collective body, accomplishing an act greater than ourselves. This “solo for many” becomes a powerful revelation of the human soul’s creative force.

Inbal Ben Haim

Born in Jerusalem, Israel in 1990, Inbal Ben Haim has developed a dual path in visual arts, sports and movement arts. She discovered aerial circus at the age of 13 through the Free Dome Project and later with Cirque Shabazy. After completing her civil service in Israel, where she developed a circus pedagogy for at-risk youth, Inbal Ben Haim moved to France. There she honed her aerial skills at circus schools such as Piste d’Azur and the Centre National des Arts du Cirque in Châlons-en-Champagne. Specialising in vertical rope, she weaves a unique relationship between body and material. Her artistic language lies at the intersection of circus and the visual arts, balancing the intimate and the spectacular, the here and the elsewhere.

In 2018, she co-created the show RACINE(S) with L’Attraction Compagnie. Her second creation, PLI, co-created with Domitille Martin and Alexis Mérat, was a 2021 circusnext laureate and supported by Les Subs as delegated producer.
Inbal Ben Haim was an associate artist at CCN2 in Grenoble from 2020 to 2022 and will become an associate artist with circusnext in 2024. She is also a member of the Maison Courbe collective.

Julian Vogel (2021 Laureate) at the Théâtre Silvia Monfort

From 27 November to 6 December 2025, Julian Vogel (2021 circusnext Laureate with China Series) presents Ceramic Circus at the Théâtre Silvia Monfort in Paris.
Julian Vogel (2021 Laureate) at the Théâtre Silvia Monfort circusnext - European Circus Label

Julian Vogel · Ceramic Circus · Plate spinning, object manipulation · Solo

A high-flying encounter between circus and ceramics: It all began when Julian Vogel, then a virtuoso of the diabolo, started to expand his practice to anything that came to hand — including clay diabolos — just to make the game a little riskier, and above all, much funnier. That’s how this mischievous juggler became a true specialist in ceramics.

Here, he turns into a one-man band in a performance that playfully toys with the audience’s nerves, exploring the fragile balances that shape our lives. Spinning plates, pendulum movements, oscillating ceramic spheres, a frenetic roller-skating chase… the artist pulls out all the stops to keep the tension high. Taking on every role — from stage machinery to music and lighting design — Julian Vogel sets his own traps, smashes a few plates along the way, and gleefully twists the codes of traditional circus. Spine-tingling stuff.

A radio blasts a Sleaford Mods song, a desk smokes, notebooks pile up; he moves so fast he becomes a blur. He just keeps accelerating. Noa Aubry – Là où la nuit n’est pas si loin puisque le jour s’en va déjà (France) · German wheel

Born from the sensation of being merely a body bridging the inner and outer worlds — a space “in between” — the performance reveals various transformations and layers of the body in an organic, sensitive experience. The approach of the wheel is reimagined through an exploration of resistance and density, creating a hypnotic, vibratory slowness.

Initially a musician, Noa Aubry studied classical guitar at the Conservatoire of Montreuil. She later discovered the German wheel and trained at ENACR, followed by CNAC. Guided by her musical background, Noa has developed a deep appreciation for language and a fascination with the body. Her work flows across artistic disciplines, breaking through conventional boundaries.

She is currently creating her first piece, Là où la nuit n’est pas si loin puisque le jour s’en va déjà, with the support of Naïf Production. Alongside she performs with the Roue Giratoire in several productions by Les filles du renard pâle.
